Nothing beats the smile and laughter of children.
Babies have the ability to make people happy.
Their honesty, their purity, their smiles, their reactions, their carefree, their freshness…
each of their personalities are irreplaceable.
Each of their smiles can warmth people’s heart. They may be small, but their heart can be purer and bigger than any adults.
They don’t play games with emotions, they don’t lie to get benefits or profits and they don’t say that they love you unless they mean it.
In Melbourne airport last week, i saw an Arabic mother in her late 20s who was carrying her adorable baby boy with him while pushing a trolley full of bags to cross the checkpoint.
No doubt, she had been flying for more than 4 hours to Melbourne and the custom was congested with grumpy passengers who could not seem to get out of the airport after hours. Her face was clearly exhausted and worn out. She may be one of the most tired passenger in the queue but no, she was definitely not the most edgy. Whenever her baby boy looked on to her with those crystal clear eyes and positioned his arms in such a way that indicate that he was eagerly playing ‘fly’, this new mum revealed the kind of smile that send the message of happiness.
Despite her tiredness and the things she need to carry with her, the smiles in the mother’s face show only blissfulness. When people in the queue played with her baby boy and asked about him, she became the proudest mum who happily introduce her baby.
This little angel was all hers.
In another occasion when I saw my 1.5 years old niece who came to visit from Taiwan, she was the role model of the most honest baby on earth
.
She was new to my home and had no memory that I once played with her when she was about 7 months old.
After one day of playing with my sister when I was out at work, she had became ‘best friend’ with my little sister. Hence, when I arrived back home after one day of work, she harshly said that I was a ’stranger auntie’ and refused to have me near her.
Little ’stranger niece’, instead of ‘entertaining’ and pretending that she likes me, confessed that she did not like me because she did not know who I was!
“I do not like stranger auntie. I like little auntie. Stranger auntie is a stranger”, THAT was what she said.
Now, when I said that children’s heart is pure and honest, I meant it!
Children make you want to start life over. ~Muhammad Ali
Ps: picture taken when she was 7 months old. The time when we were still friends and not stranger =(
